Meet Buddy

LiveToDream's helper, and our family's real pup.

Dream loud. Build bolder.

Buddy's Ivy League moment

One sunny day, Buddy visited Princeton University and decided to say hello to one of the giant bronze tigers. The tiger was made by sculptor Alexander Phimister Proctor and cast in 1910, a gift of the Class of 1879. That makes it more than a hundred years old and many, many times Buddy's size. Buddy hopped right up onto the base, puffed out his chest and stared that tiger down. The tiger didn't blink. Neither did Buddy. We're calling it a tie, though Buddy is sure he won.

Buddy fun facts

  • Size: small. Confidence: tiger-sized.
  • Ears: two, always up, always listening.
  • Roots: mostly Pembroke Welsh Corgi, with a little Tibetan Spaniel and a little Japanese Chin.
  • Tail: curled, and it wags at top speed when the fruit is falling.
  • Uniform: a cream apron with a gold star when he's cooking up treats in his games.
  • Big-cat record: one staring contest with a bronze tiger. He considers it a win.
  • Favorite job: helping out in his games (splatting fruit is a close second).

  • Buddy's Toolbox: The Shake-Off Reset

A bad day doesn't have to follow you home. Buddy shakes off a rough moment in one second, and today's tool is a simple body move: shake out your hands, arms and shoulders for twenty seconds, take three slow breaths, and say, "that part of the day is over."

  • Nap First. Then Try Again. Buddy Says

Buddy is a small, mostly-Corgi mix with big opinions about rest. His message: resting isn't quitting, it's part of the plan, and a hard day isn't a verdict, it's just a day. Today's small step is to pick one thing you gave up on this week and do the first five minutes, then you can nap.

About Buddy

Buddy is our family's real pup: a little mostly-Corgi mix with a red-gold, fox-colored coat, a cream chest and paws, big upright ears, a curled tail and a very confident heart. He's LiveToDream's helper, so you'll find him scooping sundaes, trimming the tree, catching fruit for smoothies and making very happy messes in his very own games. Pull up a chair and play along with him!

Buddy was adopted into our family, and a DNA test says he's more than half Pembroke Welsh Corgi, with the rest nearly equal parts Tibetan Spaniel and Japanese Chin. He's one of a kind, and he's LiveToDream's mascot: a reminder that big hearts come in small, fox-colored packages.
